Salam,
Java Flava. That was the first thing appeared in my mind when I was thinking of the right nick name for my blog profile. It's really not only because I was born in Semarang, Central Java, Indonesia.
When I say "Java", I soon see the warm days under the tropical sun that I have all year round in my island. I remember the warm-awakening scent of java cofee, the sweet-relaxing scent of javanese jasmine tea. I always miss the vast green rice fields streched along the island, and the lush green tropical plantations along the valleys and mountains. My name bears the javanese sounds and philosophy, and I feel forever thankful that my parents gave me that beautiful name. I love my javanese brown skin, I remember that there have been many people who said, "your face is so java".
I love classical javanese tunes, with the soft "gamelan" sounds and philosophical words inside. Things that were thought by my father, my mother and my elementary school teacher since I was only 8 year old. Words that make me think, accept and understand the harmony of life.
The flavors that have been existing in Java since centuries ago flow with the streams of my blood. The flavors of Java, "Java Flava".
Wherever I go, I have this flavor in the way I talk, the way I think, the way I behave. I have been stepping my feet in different parts of the world. The places that speaks differently, orally or behaviourly. I learn, I adapt myself, and somehow I melt into the comprehension of the new things I learn and the basis concepts that has been installed in my mind.
Yet, wherever I am, whatever experiences I gain, I remain a Java Flava from Indonesia. I'm fulfilled with my state of being, even of course, with the imperfections I own...
And, here I share some little stories of my life.
